Ficus Tineke - Cream & Green Variegated Leaves

Forget the dusty, dark green Rubber Plants in your gran’s conservatory. The Ficus Tineke is the cool, artistic cousin.
We have been waiting a while to get these back in stock. The Ficus Tineke is like a watercolour painting in plant form, with thick, glossy leaves patterned in camouflage shades of green, cream, and blushing pink.
While she is technically a Rubber Plant (meaning she is tough), the Tineke has a bit of a reputation as a diva. She knows she is beautiful, and she has demands. But get the lighting right, and she is a total showstopper that grows quickly and cleans your air while she does it.
How to keep her happy:
- Light: This is crucial. To keep those creamy pinks popping, she needs bright, indirect light. If she sits in the shade, she will sulk and the beautiful variegation will fade to green.
- Water: She hates wet feet. Let the soil dry out almost completely between waterings. If you are unsure, wait a few days.
- The Golden Rule: Pick a spot and stick to it. The Tineke hates change. She doesn't like drafts, and she doesn't like being moved around the flat. Find her a bright corner and leave her be.
Troubleshooting:
- Dropping leaves? This is the classic Ficus tantrum. It usually means you have either overwatered her, or you moved her to a new spot and she is adjusting. Check the soil moisture and give her time to settle.
- Dusty leaves? Big leaves catch big dust. Wipe them down gently with a damp cloth (or our Neem Oil spray!) to help her photosynthesize.
⚠️ Not Pet Safe. The sap is toxic if ingested
